Adult Family Therapy
Adult family therapy supports families as they navigate the complexities of long-standing relationships shaped by shared history, changing roles, and evolving boundaries. Whether families are adjusting to caregiving responsibilities, life transitions, or ongoing tensions, therapy provides a safe, neutral space for open and respectful conversation.
With the guidance of a trained therapist, family members can explore communication patterns, address unresolved conflicts, and clarify expectations. Sessions focus on building understanding, strengthening relationships, and creating healthier ways of relating—while honoring each individual’s perspective.
Adult family therapy helps families move forward with greater connection, mutual respect, and improved communication across generations.
Adult family therapy sessions can follow two paths: weekly/bi-weekly 1 hour session or a 3 hour intensive session.
Couples Therapy
Couples counseling offers a structured, supportive space to improve communication, work through conflict, and strengthen emotional connection. Whether couples are navigating changes in their relationship, challenges with intimacy, or the stress of long-term partnership transitions, therapy provides guidance and tools to move forward together.
With the support of a trained therapist, couples can better understand each other’s perspectives, identify unhelpful patterns, and develop healthier ways of relating. Sessions focus on collaboration, mutual respect, and building a stronger, more connected partnership.
Couples counseling helps partners deepen understanding, rebuild trust, and create lasting, positive change in their relationship.
Couples therapy sessions can follow two paths: weekly/bi-weekly 1 hour session or a 3 hour intensive session.
What is the difference between session types?
1 Hour Weekly vs 3 Hour Intensive
There’s no one “right” way to do therapy—different formats work better for different people, goals, and seasons of life. Both therapy intensives and weekly sessions can be powerful; the main difference is how the time and support are structured.
3-Hour Therapy Intensive
A therapy intensive is a longer, focused session where we have the space to really slow down and go deep. Instead of touching on an issue bit by bit over several weeks, an intensive allows us to work through something in one extended, uninterrupted block of time.
This option can be especially helpful if you’re feeling stuck, facing a specific challenge, or wanting clarity around a decision. Many people appreciate not having to “stop just as things are getting good” and having time to process, reflect, and practice new tools all in one session.
You might choose a therapy intensive if you:
Want to focus on one specific concern
Are looking for a breakthrough or fresh perspective
Are navigating something time-sensitive
Have a busy schedule that makes weekly sessions hard
Prefer deeper work in fewer sessions
Weekly Therapy Sessions
Weekly therapy offers steady, ongoing support over time. Sessions are shorter and spread out, which gives you space to reflect, notice patterns, and apply what we talk about to your everyday life between sessions.
This format works well for people who like having regular check-ins and a consistent rhythm of support. It allows growth to happen gradually and gives us flexibility to adjust goals as life changes.
Weekly sessions may be a good fit if you:
Want ongoing support and consistency
Are working through multiple or long-term concerns
Value having time between sessions to integrate insights
Appreciate regular accountability and check-ins
Are focused on long-term growth and maintenance
Choosing What’s Right for You
Neither option is better than the other—it really comes down to what you need right now. Some people start with an intensive and then move into weekly sessions, while others feel fully supported with just one approach.
If you’re unsure, we can talk it through together and find the option that feels like the best fit for you.
