Adult Family Therapy Intensive

Hard Conversations, Held with Care

Adult family relationships can be deeply meaningful—and deeply complicated. A three-hour adult family therapy intensive offers dedicated, uninterrupted time for family members to slow down, address longstanding patterns, and have conversations that often feel impossible in shorter sessions.

This extended format allows space for each person’s voice to be heard while exploring boundaries, communication, and relational wounds with care and structure. Whether families are navigating conflict, estrangement, life transitions, or the impact of past experiences, an adult family therapy intensive supports clarity, understanding, and a path forward—without requiring months of ongoing weekly therapy.

Who This Intensive Is For

Adult family members seeking a structured, supportive space to address conflict, disconnection, or long-standing patterns

Families navigating life transitions such as caregiving changes, aging parents, estrangement, or shifting roles

Adult siblings or parent–adult child relationships needing help with communication, boundaries, or repair

Families who want focused progress without committing to ongoing weekly therapy

Who This Intensive May Not Be a Good Fit

Situations involving active abuse, ongoing safety concerns, or coercion

Family members who are unwilling or unable to participate respectfully

Cases requiring crisis intervention or emergency mental health support

Families seeking therapy for minor children (this intensive is designed for adults only)

Pre-Intensive Preparation -1-1.5hr

This time is divided among participants.

Prior to the intensive, each person will complete a brief, reflective preparation process. This allows me to:

  • Clarify your goals and concerns in advance

  • Ensure our time together is intentional and tailored to your family’s needs

Preparation helps you arrive grounded, aligned, and ready to make the most of the experience—so we can begin our work with clarity and purpose.

The Intensive Day

The 3-hour session itself is paced with care and intention. We will:

  • Create emotional safety and deepen mutual understanding

  • Explore underlying needs, attachment dynamics, and unspoken tensions

Clarify what your relationship needs moving forward

Planned breaks are included to support emotional regulation, reflection, and integration, allowing the work to feel spacious and restorative rather than overwhelming.

Integration & Next Steps

The work done during a family therapy intensive doesn’t end when the session concludes. Integration is a key part of the process, helping family members make sense of what emerged and translate insight into real-life change.

After the intensive, families are encouraged to take time to reflect, rest. This may include practicing new communication tools, honoring boundaries discussed during the session, and allowing space for emotions to settle.

A 30 minute follow up with each participant occurs post intensive. More support can be discussed as needed and may include additional sessions, referrals, or guidance around next steps.
